2021 a return to some kind of normality!
16th January 2021
I don’t know about you but I need a holiday!
2020 has been a year unlike any of us have ever witnessed and whilst the Covid – 19 vaccines provide a way out, it will be a slow and gradual process before life returns to some kind of normality.
We had big holiday plans for 2020 as it was our retirement year, but several Covid – 19 related holiday cancellations put an end to those plans. We did enjoy several days in an isolated holiday cottage in Northumbria in September when it looked like things were improving but then our New Year’s Eve holiday to a cottage in the Lake District was cancelled due to tier changes at the very last minute.
Our thoughts are turning to holidays in 2021 and whilst it would be great to go abroad to feel the warmth of the sun our backs, the speed of vaccination programmes around Europe & Covid infections and restrictions varying from country to country and likely to remain so throughout 2021, holiday cottages will be our holidays of choice this year.
Why you may ask?
Well, mainly because it feels like the safest holiday option in this year of transition to a new normal. It seems that we are not alone with that thought as the holiday industry is predicting a boom in UK staycations for this year.
With that in mind and with our holiday cottage owner hat on, we are gearing up to reopen our dog friendly holiday cottage at the end of April 2021 and to welcome back past and new guests through to the end of October.
As last year, we will follow all Covid -19 guidance and to have processes in place to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to help minimise the risk and protect the health and safety of our guests.
We will also continue to provide a ‘Book your 2021 holiday with confidence condition’ with each booking, so that in the event of Government Covid-19 restrictions prevent your visit, we will give you the option to defer your booking, receive a credit note or cancel your booking and receive a full refund.
