Skipton Live 2026 – A Weekend of Live Music in Skipton

If you’re looking for a reason to visit Skipton over the August Bank Holiday weekend, there’s a new event in town that music lovers won’t want to miss.

Skipton Live takes place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August 2026, bringing two days of live music, local talent and a festival atmosphere to the town.

And with Thisledo Holiday Cottage just a short walk from Skipton town centre, it’s the perfect opportunity to combine a weekend of music with everything else Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales have to offer.

What is Skipton Live?

Skipton Live is a brand-new two-day celebration of live music, with a particular focus on original music from local artists, emerging performers and established acts.

The main festival programme is centred around Craven Arts House, with additional activity taking place at venues and locations around Skipton, including Skipton Town Hall, Victoria Square, The Hustle and Skipton Amphitheatre.

There are daytime and evening sessions, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to discover new music while enjoying the atmosphere around the town.

Friday at Skipton Live

Friday’s daytime session starts at 12.30pm, with the first performances from 1.15pm through to 6pm.

The line-up includes Ben Blue Waters, Amber & The Ember, Kathryn Longbottom, Sara Page, Peter Beck, The Star Sailor, Rosie Blofeld and several other performers.

The music then continues into the evening, with doors opening at 6pm and performances from 6.30pm until 10.30pm.

The Friday evening line-up includes Sarah Smout, The Lords of Misrule, Satnam Galsian, The Wholehearted, Lost in Eve and The Gatsbys, among others.

Saturday brings another full day of music

Saturday follows a similar format, with the daytime session opening at 12.30pm and music from 1.15pm until 6pm.

There’s another packed programme featuring artists including Call Me Anna, Weatherhead, Another Planet, Henry’s Radio, Adrian Burns, The Long Mondays, Never2Late, Mums That Strum and Crimson Veil.

Saturday evening then runs from 6.30pm until 10.30pm, with performances including the Jon Palmer Acoustic Band, Stageminus, Hazjak, Bertie & The Signs and The Silver Reserve.

With so many performers across the weekend, there should be plenty of opportunities to discover a new favourite band or artist.

A great excuse for a weekend in Skipton

One of the things we love about Skipton is that you don’t need to choose between a music festival and a Yorkshire Dales break.

Spend the afternoon enjoying the music, wander into the town centre for something to eat, explore Skipton’s famous High Street and canal, and then head back to the festival for the evening session.

And when the music is over, you can leave the crowds behind and enjoy the peace and quiet of Thisledo Holiday Cottage.

Our cosy one-bedroom cottage sleeps two and is conveniently located within walking distance of Skipton town centre. It makes a great base for exploring the town and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales – and, importantly, you won’t need to worry about driving home after enjoying the evening’s entertainment!

Make a weekend of it

If you’re visiting Skipton for Skipton Live, why not make the most of your stay?

You could combine the festival with a walk along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, explore Skipton Castle, browse the independent shops and market, or head further into the Yorkshire Dales to visit places such as Malham, Grassington or Bolton Abbey.

And if you’re bringing your four-legged friend, Thisledo is dog-friendly too, so your weekend away doesn’t have to leave them behind.

Skipton Live takes place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August 2026. Separate tickets are available for the daytime and evening sessions at Craven Arts House, with tickets available through the official Skipton Live website.

So, if live music, good food, a lively Yorkshire market town and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales sound like your idea of a great Bank Holiday weekend, Skipton Live could be the perfect excuse for a short break at Thisledo.

Come for the music, stay for Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales.
