If you’re arriving by car, directions are straightforward whether you’re coming from the Skipton Bypass or through the town centre:

  • From the Skipton Bypass:
Follow signs into Skipton at the roundabout where the A65, A629 and A59 meet. You’ll pass Aireville Park on your right and continue straight at the mini roundabout, with Skipton Girls’ High School on your left. Around 300 yards later, you’ll see a newsagent on your left — this is the best place to stop briefly to unload. The cottage is located on the row of houses behind the shop.
  • From Skipton Town Centre:
At the roundabout near the church on Skipton High Street, take the Settle/Grassington exit. Turn left by Staniforths Pie Shop onto Water Street, continue straight at the mini roundabout past Ermysted’s Grammar School, and you’ll find the newsagent on your right. Again, this is the ideal unloading spot, with the cottage just behind it.

Once you’ve unloaded, we recommend parking on Gainsborough Court, which is nearby and convenient for longer stays.

If you have any trouble finding us, don’t hesitate to call 07754 124758 — we’re always happy to help.

Accessing the Cottage

Clear instructions for collecting and returning the keys will be provided ahead of your arrival, so you can access the cottage easily and at your own pace. Everything is designed to be simple and fuss-free, letting you get straight into holiday mode.

Bringing Your Dog? You’re in the Right Place 🐾

Thisledo is a great choice if you’re travelling with your dog. Just a few minutes’ walk away is Aireville Park, the closest place where dogs can enjoy an off-lead walk.

To get there, turn right as you leave Woodman Terrace and walk up Gargrave Road, passing Skipton Girls’ High School. Just before the mini roundabout, cross the road and you’ll find a gateway into the park.

It’s a lovely open space and perfect for stretching legs after a journey. We kindly ask that dogs are kept under control and that you clean up after them, so everyone can enjoy the park.

Settle In and Enjoy

Once you’ve arrived, parked up, and dropped your bags, everything Skipton has to offer is right on your doorstep — from countryside walks and parks to independent shops, cafés, and pubs.

We hope this guide helps make your arrival smooth and stress-free. If you need anything at all before or during your stay, just get in touch. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Thisledo Holiday Cottage and hope you have a wonderful stay.
