Normal Yorkshire Dales Weather Resumed

Like the rest of the country, Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales witnessed record heat levels with temperatures not quite reaching 40 degrees, but coming very close. It’s now Friday afternoon as I write this update and the start of the school summer holidays and the clouds and rain have returned!!

Anyone staying in Skipton this week will overall have enjoyed one of the warmest weeks on record, with the start of the week probably too hot to be out and about exploring the Dales, certainly not on foot! Whilst the last day of their week will have been spent dodging light showers.

Whatever the weather Skipton has plenty to offer from visting Skipton Castle and Skipton Museum on rainy days through to paddling in the River Wharfe at Burnsall, Appletreewick or Bolton Abbey to cool down on hot days.

Finding a holiday cottage with air conditioning in Skipton will be difficult, but most accommodation like Thisledo provide fans and cool bedding so that you can still get as good a nights sleep as possible.
