Skipton Woods – The Hidden Woodland in Central Skipton

Many people come to Skipton and fail to realise that there is a wonderful woodland circular walk right in the very heart of Skipton. The entrance to Skipton Woods can be found a 5 to 10 minute walk from the holiday cottage at the end of Water Street as you walk into the town centre.
The wood can be found behind Skipton Castle and has been there for over aÂ thousand yearsproviding a source of fuel and energy for Skipton Castle and local industries.
On your walk through the wood, keep a look out for wildlife such as bats, deer if you are really luck. Llowering plants, trees, grasses, sedges and ferns also flourish in Skipton Wood.
