Thisledo Holiday Cottage Earns Airbnb Superhost Status! (Or, How We Accidentally Became Hospitality Pros)

Drumroll, please! 🌟 Thisledo Holiday Cottage has officially achieved Airbnb Superhost status. I know what you’re thinking, “How did this little slice of the Yorkshire Dales climb to the top of the Airbnb food chain?” Well, it wasn’t our plan to dominate the world of holiday lets in Skipton, but here we are, basking in the glory of five-star reviews, spontaneous applause, and possibly a knighthood (I’ll keep you posted on that last one).

The Journey to Superhostdom

When we first opened Thisledo to the world, our ambition was pretty modest: provide a comfy, charming place for visitors to rest their heads after traipsing around the beautiful Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales. Little did we know we’d become the Yorkshire Dales destination for dog lovers, hiking fanatics, and that one couple who spent the entire weekend re-enacting scenes from All Creatures Great and Small around the Dales (no judgement).

It turns out all you need to become a Superhost is:

1. Fluffy towels.
2. A stone cottage close to the town centre of Skipton.
3. A willingness to answer late-night questions like, “Where’s the best pub in Skipton to bring my ferret?”

Doggy Dreamland

One of the best decisions we ever made was making Thisledo dog-friendly. I mean, who wouldn’t want to share their romantic weekend getaway with a muddy, excitable terrier named Buster? But seriously, we’ve had so many dogs come through our doors that we’re considering adding a paw print guestbook. And guess what? Dogs leave great reviews. (I can only assume the humans are doing the writing for them, but I choose to believe otherwise.)

The number of “Best Cottage for Dogs Ever!!!” reviews has convinced us that we’re basically running a luxury retreat for canines. Superhost status? More like Supawhost, am I right?

5-Star Reviews: Accidental Mastery

We like to think that our glowing reviews are thanks to the high standards we’ve set, but let’s be honest – the real secret weapon here is Skipton itself. With its beautiful market town vibes, the Skipton Castle, and enough cosy pubs to keep you snug no matter the weather, the town does half the work for us. The other half is mostly making sure we keep the Wi-Fi working for city folk who think they might perish without Instagram for a weekend.

Every review feels like a tiny pat on the back: “Perfect for a weekend escape!” or “Loved the location, so close to the town centre!” or “The host responded to my ferret query at 2 a.m. with grace and humour!” (Okay, okay, maybe not the last one. But only because it was a stoat.)

Well, now that we’ve reached the dizzying heights of Superhost stardom, we’re clearly on the path to global holiday let domination. (Kidding! Mostly…) We’re just thrilled to have had so many lovely guests who’ve appreciated the simple joys of a cosy stone cottage with modern comforts, set in the heart of Skipton.
