Dog friendly hotel versus a pet friendly holiday cottage

Staying in a dog-friendly holiday cottage in Skipton is a great way to enjoy a holiday with your furry friend. Unlike pet-friendly hotels, cottages offer more space and privacy for you and your dog to enjoy. Plus, many cottages are located in picturesque countryside areas that are perfect for walks and adventures with your dog.

One of the biggest advantages of staying in a cottage is the freedom it provides. Your dog can roam freely in the cottage and the garden without being confined to a small hotel room. This means that your pet can have a more comfortable and relaxed holiday, which will make your own holiday more enjoyable too.

Another benefit of staying in a cottage is the opportunity to explore the local area with your dog. Skipton is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and many cottages are located in rural areas that are perfect for walks and hikes with your pet. There are also many dog-friendly pubs and cafes in the town, where you can enjoy a meal or a drink with your dog by your side.

When choosing a holiday cottage, make sure to check if it is truly dog-friendly. Some cottages may have restrictions on the number of dogs allowed or specific rules on where your pet can go. It’s also important to consider the size of the cottage and the garden, as well as any local dog-walking routes nearby.

In conclusion, a dog-friendly holiday cottage in Skipton is a great option for pet owners who want to enjoy a holiday with their furry friend. With more space, freedom and the opportunity to explore the local area, a cottage holiday is a perfect way to create lasting memories with your pet.

It’s dark, wet and horrible out there!

January is such a miserable month, especially in the Yorkshire Dales where the short hours of daylight combined with a constant lid of dark rain clouds make enjoying life outside not much fun!

Whilst the fantastic scenery of the Yorkshire Dales still beckons, it’s not as enjoyable wrapped up in your rain clothes with rain pelting into your face. Many tourist attractions are also closed, so escaping insides from the weather leaves little choice other than cafes and bars.

Nonetheless some brave and hardy folk still like to venture to Skipton, mainly for long weekend breaks. It’s a good time to bag a bargain on a holiday cottage stay, as many have very few guests in January and prices are at their lowest. Just remember to bring your wellies and your raincoat!

Mini Kitchen Refurbishment Underway

With the departure of New Years guests, the work on the mini refurbishment of Skipton Holiday Cottage, Thisledo is underway. The three sets of spotlights have been replaced with down lighters, great work by Malcolm Baines Electrical Contractors, thank you.

Now it’s the removal of some shelving, a plastering touch up and a full repainting of the kitchen and hallway before we reopen to guests at the end of January. No pressure, the bookings are already in from guests looking forwards to exploring Skipton and the Dales.
