Skipton Holiday Cottage Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Thisledo Holiday Cottage, located in Skipton, has been providing 4 star quality self catering accommodation  in the Yorkshire Dales for 10 years this year, 2013.

The one bedroom cottage is ideal for couples who want to come to the Yorkshire Dales and make Skipton their base. The cottage is very popular with retired couples, but equally appeals to younger generations who want to be close to the heart of Skipton, rather than located in a remote Yorkshire dales Holiday Cottage.

Skipton town centre is only a few minutes walk from the cottage and the vast open countryside of the Yorkshire Dales is easily accessible.

Come and visit, one of Skipton’s most established and successful holiday cottages.

Embsay Crag

Embsay Crag provides an excellent place to view Skipton and the surrounding area, including the approach to Skipton along the Aire Valley and the entry points into the Yorkshire Dales.

It is a reasonable tough climb up the Crag, made more difficult by the erosion which has occured on the ascent, but it is well worth the climb.

You can drive to Embsay Reservoir Car Park and then climb up the Crag, descend into Eastby and walk along Embsay Main street to have lunch or refreshments in the Elm Tree Pub.

Places To Stay In The Yorkshire Dales

Covering around 1769 squares kilometers, narrowing down an area in which to stay during your visit to the Yorkshire Dales can take sometime!

Here’s a couple of things to consider:-

– Do you want to stay in a remote location where you nearesr neighbours & civilisation are a few miles down the road?

– Do you want to stay in a Dales town like Skipton, where you can enjoy the delights of local restaurants and bars in the evening, but enjoy the open countryside during the day?

If your choice is the latter, then choosing to stay in a fully equipped Holiday Cottage in Skipton, such as Thisledo Holiday Cottage makes an ideal location.

Car Parking In Skipton

Skipton is gearing itself up for the summer season and the arrival of hundreds of visitors over the summer months.

For day trippers, one of the problems with Skipton is finding a car parking space. At the moment, this is aggravated by construction works taking place in the Coach Street Car Parks, but this is due to be finished before peak summer season.

A new car park is being built at Skipton Castle which will help to allieviate some of the parking problems.

For visitors to Thisledo Holiday Cottage, there is a parking area available with other local residents which is provided on a  first come basis and we can also recommend other close by parking which is safe and secure. No previous guests have ever expressed a problem with parking.
